First of all, you will have to make sure that you can buy real estate in Romania. For example, do you have Romanian residency or Romanian fiscal number?

Secondly, I frequently receive emails such as: “I am currently looking to purchase an apartment in Bucharest. Seeking for legal support during all the process and registration myself as an owner over all the necessary institutions. I need to assume all the paperwork and documentation is legal and clear, need support to buy and register real estate on my name.”

So, after you’ve decided on the property worth buying, request the seller, in the first stage, the following most important documents to check, in copy: ownership title and proof of registration in the land registry.
