Ikea to open a second store…in Bucharest!

Earlier in the summer, after much deliberation on where to build their second store, IKEA purchased land for the construction of the second store in east Bucharest, located at 57 Pallady Boulevard, complimenting the Dedeman & Decathlon stores already in place & surely bringing a significant boost to the area. announced the Swedish retailer of furniture and decoration.Ikea second storeThe plot has an area of approximately 14 hectares. Ikea spokesperson announced that ‘In various large cities in Romania there is potential to open IKEA stores’ & Iasi & Brasov were previous considerations. Indeed we at White Mountain submitted several plot proposals since 2010 through to 2015.

The existing store in Baneasa, Bucharest is still serving  a large number of visitors, & the trend of upgrading interiors appears to be growing fast.   Ikea also has plans to invest in other cities but no time frame has been announced to the public domain.
